Day 1: EARTH University
Land in San José, meet your Edu tours leader and head to EARTH University campus in the Costa Rica's Caribbean low lands.
Day 2: Welcome to EARTH University
Wake up early and start the introduction to the university and learn about its mission to help rural farmers maintain the environment, and support sustainable development. Participate in a workshop on eco-friendly farming practices. Relax at the University Campus and have dinner in the cafeteria.
Stay in EARTH University dorms.
Day 3 - 4: Live in an Integrated Family Farm
Today is when the physical adventure begins! The morning starts with a two hour hike through the lush rainforest. On the way you will stop in a botanical garden where we are going to learn about medicinal plants and also try lots of different fruits. In the afternoon we are going to rappel a 100 feet waterfall. Spend the night in a fully equipped cave hidden behind the waterfall, the place is rustic but there are bathrooms, kitchen are and beds, it's magical!
Day 5:Visit to La Veragua Rain Forest
Take a trip to the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica; stop by the world famous Veragua Rain Forest and explore the natural wonders of Costa Rica's breathtaking tropical rain forest.
Day 6: Explore Cahuita National Park
Take a break from farming and the tropical Rain Forest to visit the beautiful Caribbean beaches around Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. Hit the beach for a surf lesson and ride the blue waves of the Caribbean, hit the beach for a surf lesson and ride the blue waves of the Caribbean. Spend an evening chilling out with some Reggae tunes as the waves gently roll onto the sand.
Day 7:Welcome to the Village of Pacayitas
Live with and get to know your carefully selected home stay family. Sugar Cane Tour, visit cane fields and the Trapiche Agroindustry's Salmerón, a local candy producer.
Eat meals at Doña Yiya Restaurant, owned by the friendly Jimenez family
Practice your Spanish and learn more about Tico culture playing ames and activities with local children in the village.
Day 8 - 9: Pacuare River Rafting Expedition!
After breakfast we are off to the Pacuare River for a two-day rafting expedition on a different stretch of this unspoiled river, not to be missed. Enjoy the class III and IV rapids on the most famous rafting river in the country. Eat meals on the side of the river and spend the night in our jungle lodge.
Day 10: Good Bye and See you soon!
Your adventures have been numerous and thrilling, but it is now time for you to return home. Pura vida!
